Lately

Well for one thing not a whole lot. Well, maybe a ittle bit. I started teaching an arts and craft class at the highschool; thats pretty exciting. I get to freshen up on my beading skills; its been awhile. Lot of the kids already know how to bead, so its not like they really need my help. Maybe a few kids need help but other than that they work on their own. I guess this class has been a fav. historically at BHS; with the bunch I have now I would have to agree with this history. It really is a good class to come in and do some traditional work. I like it alot.
This past weekend our drum group Northern Wind won an Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award up in Winnipeg. I wasn't expecting to win it. Its a popularity contest; for sure I thought maybe Battle River would win it. Gabe texted me and even phoned me; he was pretty excited about the win. Good for him. Now I just wish some of us could share our songs with the group to sing....lol...maybe one day. So yeah that was pretty exciting. Thanksgiving weekend we are also nominated for an award over in Toronto for the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards. Last time we were nominated we won; that was back in 2004. I was there to accept that award along with Nate and Farrell...that was pretty exciting. Man that was a long time ago.
Jamie has sticking around in Bemidji lately; she is over at Lincoln School everyday doing her practicum. Shes enjoying it a lot. Im proud of her.

Payday this weekend. Short work week. Staff development workshops all day Saturday. Thanksgiving is around the corner and I'm pretty sure mom, Tashina, Bri, Aryis and Kemper are coming down for that. Man...haven't had Thanksgiving with them in seven years; one big reason is the Thanksgiving dates are different in Canada then here in Chi-mookomanaking. So I am looking forward to that for sure.

so yeaht thats all i got right now. peace and have a happy Wednesday tomorrow.
