my poor ole lighter part 2

On one of my previous blogs I wrote down how worried and relieved I was towards losing and then finding my lighter cover from Cancun, Mexico.

Well last summer, July 2006, I lost my precious lighter cover for good. :(
That really sucked. I walked around the Pow Wow arbour all day that day frantically looking for it, hoping I would miracously find it, my hopes were crushed when the Pow Wow was over and I still hadn't found it. That sucked big time. My auntie Johnnie was helping me too but to no avail.

HIYE!!!

R.I.P. my lighter cover friend. You will be hard to replace.

Kwetan

Well this morning my dad called me and told me some tragic news. My Kookums sister, who we graciously knew as Kwetan, or Elizabeth, passed away this morning. Apparently she suffered a heart attack. I knew Kwetan very well; I hardly got to see her the past six or seven years, but when we did see each othe we would always say hi to each other or she would always tease me in Ojibwe words. I am going to miss her. She had one of those smiles that was her own.

My hunny and I were supposed to have our fundraising wedding social this Saturday also; but out of respect for this death I think it would be appropiate that we cancel this event. However, if my family still wants to go ahead with this event, mind you though with my kookums blessing, I am ok to go ahead with it.

But yeah thats what happend today.

It's been awhile

Holy toledos its been over a year since I last wrote in this thing. Ya know I've never been to big on writing stuff down. I'm more of a reader; more of a nosey guy than anything else. I'm more used to expressing whatI have to say through words or actions rather than words. But thats just me; everybody has their own way of doing things and I respect that. Well.....let me see.....hmmmm...ya see thats why I have a thing against writing.....I DONT KNOW WHAT TO WRITE! HEHE.

How about I summarize what happend throughout the year since my last post.
Ummm..Ummmm...Jamie and I went to a lot of Pow Wows. We were supposed to get married in October but had to move it to June 2nd. I work as a teacher at Bemidji HighSchool, have been so for the past year and half now. Umm....we went to Disney World...a trip I coined the Long Journey; it was s bad trip for automobiles; but it was real fun.

Umm....my hunny and I are FINALLY getting married in a couple of weeks. I can not wait for that. Its so exciting. So yeah...our wedding is the big thing going on in my life right now. Its awesome. So yeah. I'll see you all next year. HAHA....I'm gonna try and keep this thing updated from now on. Lets see how that works.
